Lactic Acid

  • Process Start: First, a suitable microorganism culture is selected. The most commonly used microorganisms are Lactobacillus bacteria.

  • Medium Preparation: A suitable medium is prepared for optimal growth and lactic acid production of microorganisms. The medium usually contains water, a carbon source (such as sugar), a nitrogen source and other necessary minerals.

  • Fermentation: The microorganisms in the prepared medium are added to the fermentation tanks. Here, under controlled temperature, pH and oxygen levels, the microorganisms metabolize the sugars into lactic acid. During this process, lactic acid is produced and fermentation continues.

  • Product Separation: After fermentation is complete, the fermentation mixture is separated into lactic acid and other components by processes such as filtration or centrifugation.

  • Obtaining Pure Lactic Acid: The resulting mixture is purified by purification processes (e.g. distillation or membrane technologies) and the desired purity lactic acid product is obtained.

  • Product Storage and Packaging: Purified lactic acid is finally stored and packaged in the desired format and made ready.
