Corn Starch

Corn Starch

1. Purifying : Eliminates large and small foreign substances before storage. The rotary screen performs de-stoning and de-dusting. Purified corn is sent to the steeping section.

2. Steeping: Counter-current steeping softens the corn in tanks at ~50°C with circulating acid. Steeped corn is then pumped to the crushing stage.

3. Sulfurous Acid Making: Sulfur is burned in a furnace, producing SO₂ gas, which is absorbed in a tower with water to create sulfurous acid.

4. Corn Crushing & Germ Separation: Steeped corn is milled and sent through germ separation cyclones and screens. Further milling improves separation. Light phase returns to the previous tank.

5. Fine Milling & Fiber Processing: Degermed corn is finely milled to remove fiber. Fibers are washed, dewatered, dried, and mixed with corn slurry for animal feed.

6. Protein Separation & Starch Washing: Starch milk passes through a primary separator for gluten removal. Clean starch undergoes a 12-stage hydro cyclone washing process.

7. Starch Dewatering & Drying: Fine starch milk is dewatered using a peeler centrifuge, then dried with an air-flow dryer to achieve moisture <14%. The final product is packed and shipped.

8. Germ Processing & Oil Extraction: Germs are washed, dewatered, dried, fried, and oil is extracted. The crude oil is filtered for further use.

9. Gluten Concentration & Drying: Gluten is concentrated using air-floating vessels, dewatered via a vacuum filter, and dried to produce gluten meal.

10. Water Recovery & Steeping Liquid Evaporation: Steeping liquid is concentrated in an evaporator and mixed with fiber for animal feed. Process water is reused for steeping and washing.

Description of Investment Components:

  • Machinery:
The machinery investment includes core equipment required for corn starch production such as corn cleaning and steeping units, wet milling systems, fiber separation, germ recovery, gluten separation, starch refining, drying systems, storage silos, slurry handling, CIP (Cleaning-In-Place) systems, and all related process lines and automation systems.

  • Land & Construction:
The land and construction costs cover industrial-zoned land and all necessary physical infrastructure, including production buildings, administrative offices, raw material and finished product storage, laboratory units, social facilities, and landscaping areas suitable for the full operation of a corn starch factory.

  • Total Investment:
The total investment estimate encompasses all vital components such as detailed process engineering, mechanical and electrical installation, infrastructure setup, environmental protection units, product handling systems, licensing, and utility connections (electricity, water, gas) essential for continuous, large-scale operation.

  • Auxiliary Equipment:
Auxiliary systems such as steam boilers, cooling towers, air compressors, water purification systems (e.g., reverse osmosis), control panels, backup power generators, and utility monitoring systems are not included in the machinery prices listed above and must be quoted separately based on specific capacity needs.

  • Project Design:
Project planning, feasibility studies, and factory layout design services are provided independently and are not included in the above investment figures. These services can be customized according to local regulations, raw material availability, and market targets.

  • Technical Service & Consulting:
Turnkey installation is included within the investment scope. Post-commissioning remote monitoring, process optimization, and technical support services will be provided free of charge for a period of 700 days following plant handover.
